It is regarded as the Marai or Veda of Tamil Saivism and comprises the Tevaram, the Tiruvacakam, the Tirumantiram and the Periyapuranam. It is believed that these texts were "discovered" and brought together by Nambi Andar Nambi at the behest of the 11th-century Chola monarch Apayakulasekaran. |
