He was a man of great erudition and was justly called "Mahavidvan". The Tamil world is indebted to him for his profound knowledge of the Tamil heritage. He was the guru of Dr U.V. Svaminatha Ayvar (qv) and, apart from being the author of a number of works, including Puranas, he was a gifted speaker. |
