Śridhara Venkatesvara Ayyāvāl belonged to an Andhra Brahmin family and was Bodhendra Svāmigal’s counterpart. Both were foremost among those who propagated devotion through nāma-japa. While Sri Bodhendra Svāmigal propagated devotion to Rāma and Govinda, Ayyāvāl spread the glory of Śiva. He is the author of a number of devotional works. |
