A great saint, yogin and mystic, he was a disciple of the 57th Shankarācārya of Kāncī Kāmakoti Pītha (1539-1586). He has composed a number of hymns which are still sung today all over the South. He is also the author of works on Advaita Vedānta like Atmavidyavilasa, Siddhāntakalpavalli and Brahmasūtravrtti. |
