| Long Description: |
The root SKN includes the meanings of immobility (sukūn) and of habitation. The word is analogous to the Hebrew Shekīna (the Divine Glory dwelling in the ark of the Covenant). Note the Qur’ānic verse: “It is He who makes the Sakīnah descend into the hearts of the believers that they may acquire a new faith over their faith…” (48:4) |
